Etihad Rail awarded civil and track works contracts worth AED 4.4 billion ($1.2 billion) for Packages B and C of Stage Two of the UAE national railway, connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai, to China Railway Construction Corporation and Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting.

China Railway Construction broke ground on a 1 billion yuan ($148 million) high-end equipment manufacturing base in Baotou, Inner Mongolia. The facility will produce tunnel boring machines and concrete segments for metro and underground pipe gallery projects, creating 500 jobs.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy awarded the main contract for Lusail Stadium to a joint venture of Qatari contractor HBK Contracting and China Railway Construction Corporation. The 80,000-seat stadium is scheduled for completion by 2020.
