Maire Tecnimont's subsidiary Tecnimont, in a joint venture with HQC (65% Tecnimont), was awarded a $328 million EPCC lump sum turn-key contract by PRPC Polymers for a 400,000 t/y High Density Polyethylene unit at PETRONAS' Pengerang Integrated Complex in Johor, Malaysia. Completion is expected in Q3 2019.

Bemis inaugurated an expansion of its packaging plant in the Suape industrial port complex in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco. The R$31 million investment adds 8,000 square meters and is expected to double rigid packaging capacity and create more than 140 jobs.

Corbion will expand its existing lactide plant in Rayong, Thailand by 25,000 tons per annum, with start-up targeted for the second half of 2018 alongside the new PLA plant.

Sonoco has acquired Plastic Packaging Inc., a privately held Hickory, North Carolina flexible packaging maker with about $42 million in expected 2016 sales and roughly 170 employees. The deal adds short-run flexible packaging capabilities in the southeast US.

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has finalised the acquisition of privately owned US distributor Anderson Seal LLC, which distributes seals, gaskets and custom-moulded products. The deal was reported on 2016-09-13.

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus sold Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Group to Egeria; the deal closed in December 2016 and its value was undisclosed.

Altopro SA de CV plans a $50 million expansion of its Irapuato facility, including a new five-layer polypropylene oriented film line from Brückner, expected operational in early 2017 and adding about 40 million pounds of capacity.

Fernco, Inc. moved its manufacturing and distribution operations to a new 150,000 sq. ft. facility in Davison, Michigan, a mile from its headquarters. The facility, which became fully operational in November 2015, features new injection molding machines and robotic equipment, increasing production and shipping capacity by 15%.
