Plastic Packaging Inc.

Placon completed the acquisition of privately held rigid plastic container maker Plastic Packaging Corp. The target has a 100,000 sq ft plant in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and 141 employees.

Sonoco has acquired Plastic Packaging Inc., a privately held Hickory, North Carolina flexible packaging maker with about $42 million in expected 2016 sales and roughly 170 employees. The deal adds short-run flexible packaging capabilities in the southeast US.
