Graphic Packaging International announced a new facility in Waco, Texas, with a state-of-the-art coated recycled paperboard machine and 640,000 square feet of production and warehouse space valued at $1 billion. The company expects to create around 230 local jobs.

Clayco, JB2 Partners and ElmTree Funds broke ground on WestRock's new 410,000-square-foot corrugated box plant in Longview, Washington. Production is due to begin in fall 2023 and create about 40 jobs.

Alleima is commissioning a new hydraulic and instrumentation tubing factory at its Mehsana mill in Gujarat, India, with inauguration scheduled for 15 March 2023. The company did not disclose the investment amount.

Bailey International opened a new MVP (Motors, Valves, Pumps) Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with over 20,000 sq ft, stocking and manufacturing hydraulic motors, valves and pumps. The center follows Bailey's earlier acquisition of Hydrolico.

Anhui Tenglong Pump & Valve Manufacturing plans a new plant in Jing County's electric motor pump and valve industrial base, with 120 million yuan total investment, about 60 mu of land, and expected annual sales of 400 million yuan.

SIG will build its first aseptic carton plant in India in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, investing about EUR 60 million (US$63.87 million) over 2023-2025 with up to four billion packs per year capacity and around 300 jobs in phase one.

Deles Polska, the Polish subsidiary of Italy's Deles group, formally inaugurated a 7,000 m2 corrugated packaging plant in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Western Poland. The plant employs more than 100 staff and headcount is planned to double within three years.

ZIEHL-ABEGG has broken ground on a €100 million production, logistics and R&D center on a 48,500 m2 site in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for biomimetic energy-efficient fans. The article says the project will create hundreds of new jobs.

Alesayi Beverage Corporation and Tetra Pak Arabia signed a US$8.04 million deal at Gulfood 2023 for Tetra Pak to supply processing equipment for a greenfield facility in Jeddah. The first phase is expected to produce 200,000 litres per day and be operational by Q1 2024.

Axium Packaging will invest $32 million to build a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Archdale, Randolph County, North Carolina, creating 118 jobs. Operations are expected to begin in 2024.

SFT Group plans a new corrugated packaging plant in an industrial park in Takhtamukaysky district, Adygea, with capacity up to 200 million m² per year and investment up to 4 billion rubles.

Dongya Machinery (301028) broke ground on its Jaguar air compressor manufacturing project, with a planned investment of 733 million yuan and completion expected in 2025. The plant will produce air compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems announced a US$57 million investment in Plant IV in Acuña, Coahuila, a 17,188 square meter highly automated facility making commercial vehicle braking systems, adding more than 180 jobs.

ADL Trading House will build a new production complex on two hectares in Kolomna urban district, Moscow Oblast, to manufacture pipeline valves, investing 600 million rubles and creating 40 jobs. Commissioning is planned for 2025.

Priya Industrie announced a new food processing, production, co-packing and packaging plant in Longueuil, Quebec, built with a C$19 million investment. Operations are scheduled to start in April 2023.

Viking Group bought a 40-acre property in Richmond, Indiana, to build a manufacturing facility for its subsidiary MV Pipe LLC, making Fendium corrosion-resistant fire protection pipe. The project is expected to create 111 new jobs and is backed by up to $1.5 million in state tax credits.

Guangdong Fosber Intelligent Equipment (Fosber Asia) held the groundbreaking for a new intelligent factory making corrugator production lines in Songxia Industrial Park, Foshan, on 10 February 2023. The estimated investment is about 500 million yuan over an 80-acre site.

Vaillant is opening a new heat pump factory in a 129,000 sq ft unit at St Modwen Park Derby, expected to open in 2024 and creating more than 200 jobs. The site supports plans to more than double production of its aroTHERM plus air source heat pump.

Danfoss announced construction of a new compressor and sensor manufacturing facility in Apodaca, Mexico, to serve growing US demand for cooling technology. The plant is expected to be ready by the end of 2024 with capacity for 100,000 compressor units and 2.6 million sensors.

KEYTER INTARCON GENAQ laid the foundation stone on 3 February 2023 for a new refrigeration and air conditioning plant in Lucena, Córdoba, with an investment of over EUR 30 million and 600 direct jobs expected by 2025.

SIG is developing its first aseptic carton plant in India at Horizons Industrial Park Bhayala, Gujarat, with an estimated investment of Rs 8.8 billion ($105 million). Announced in February 2023, construction began in September 2023 and operations are expected in 2025.

The Robinette Company, a film and paper packaging manufacturer, will invest $10.3 million to construct a new 100,000-square-foot facility in Piney Flats, Tennessee, creating 70 new production jobs. The announcement was made with Governor Bill Lee and state economic development officials.

ALPLA, Ecohelp SRL and United Polymer Trading opened a joint PET recycling plant in Targu Mures, Romania, with about 18,000 tonnes annual capacity of food-grade rPET, after an investment of about EUR 7.5 million.

Hotpack Global, a UAE-based disposable food packaging maker, launched a paper packaging plant in Doha's New Industrial Area. The first phase makes folding and corrugated cartons, with paper bags and cups planned in later phases.

Hexagon Purus has opened a 60,000 sq ft facility in Westminster, Maryland, to make hydrogen Type 4 composite cylinders, with capacity for up to 10,000 cylinders a year and up to 150 jobs. It replaces its Taneytown, Maryland operation.

Süper Film Ambalaj is investing €100 million, including working capital, in a new packaging plant in the Lüleburgaz OSB, Turkey. The plant will start with 60,000-tonne capacity, raising total capacity to 185,000 tonnes, and will employ 150 additional people.

Glassica LLC plans to start building a second glass container plant in the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park in March 2023, to be completed in 14 months. Its investment is 60 million manat, and the first plant has produced about 3 million containers, with 250,000 exported to Romania and Moldova.

Smurfit Kappa has invested $23 million in a corrugated cardboard plant in the Oradel industrial park in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The facility is due to open the following week, and is expected to create direct and indirect jobs.

Emerson is building an innovation and manufacturing hub at King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) in Saudi Arabia, to provide control systems engineering, testing and manufacturing of DP transmitters, control valves and solenoid valves, slated to open by December 2024.

Stupinsky Gofrokombinat plans a new corrugated board production facility in Stupino, Moscow Oblast, with investment above 3.2 billion rubles, more than 400 jobs and planned capacity of 200 million square metres per year, with commissioning scheduled for 2026.

Nihon Netsugen Systems is building a new factory in Shiga, Japan, due to open in March 2023, which will raise its annual production of transcritical CO2 refrigeration units from 100 to 250.

Berlin pump maker InLine Hydraulik bought a 13,000 sqm site in Stahnsdorf in December 2022 for a second production plant, starting with 200 jobs and possibly up to 400 later. Production is expected to start in about a year.
