Polish e-commerce company Allegro has selected Mondi as its main corrugated packaging supplier in Poland and the Czech Republic. Mondi's CEO described the partnership as a step toward more sustainable eCommerce packaging.

Allegro Group chose Mondi as main corrugated packaging supplier for Poland and Czechia and Stora Enso Poland as second supplier, following a tender announced on 14 December 2023.

CANPACK Group agreed on 28 November 2023 to transfer its CP Glass bottle plant in Orzesze, Poland to BA Glass, subject to merger control approval, with completion expected in the first half of 2024.

Smurfit Kappa has completed a €40 million investment at its Pruszków corrugated plant in Poland, adding a high-tech corrugator and a new warehouse for 12,000 pallets. The expansion makes it the company's largest plant in Poland and adds 50 jobs.

Daikin has started building a new heat pump factory in Poland with a total investment of 300 million euros. Production is due to start in July 2024 and the plant is expected to create 1,000 jobs by 2025.

Smurfit Kappa officially opened its expanded Pruszków plant in Poland on March 16, 2023, after a EUR 40 million investment that doubled production capacity and added a 12,000-pallet warehouse.

Canpack is starting up new final production lines at its Brzesko plant in Poland, which will lift can capacity to over 12 billion a year, with full operation expected by end of November.

Constantia Flexibles signed an agreement to acquire Drukpol Flexo, a Polish flexible packaging company with 183 employees and two sites near Warsaw. Terms were not disclosed and completion is expected in Q2 2023, subject to competition clearance.

Deles Polska, the Polish subsidiary of Italy's Deles group, formally inaugurated a 7,000 m2 corrugated packaging plant in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Western Poland. The plant employs more than 100 staff and headcount is planned to double within three years.

Polish packaging maker KGL signed an amended agreement to be the main packaging supplier to Danish Crown, mainly for its Polish plants, through 28 February 2025. KGL estimates potential revenue of about 30 million PLN net.

VMI, part of TKH, opened three new production assembly halls at its Leszno, Poland site, bringing production floorspace to almost 30,000 square meters. The expansion supports its tire and pharmaceutical machinery business.

German company Muller agreed to acquire the canned seafood division of Poland's Graal Group, subject to approval by Polish competition authorities. Graal founder Boguslaw Kowalski will step aside after a short transition period.

Progroup has started production at its PW14 corrugated sheetfeeder plant in Stryków, Poland, which can produce up to 200,000 tonnes of corrugated sheetboard. The EUR 72 million project created 50 jobs.

Mondi installed a 3.35m BHS Corrugated Width Line at its Mszczonów plant near Warsaw, following a factory extension, lifting planned output to over 320m sqm per year. The extension and new corrugator were implemented in 2023.

Hitachi Energy won two major orders from Equinor and Polenergia for AC grid connections and STATCOM power quality solutions for the MFW Baltyk II and III offshore wind farms, with combined capacity of 1,440 MW. First power is scheduled for 2027, pending a 2024 final investment decision.

Equinor and Polenergia selected Hitachi Energy to deliver electrical systems infrastructure for the MFW Baltyk II and MFW Baltyk III offshore wind projects, totaling 1440 MW, in the Baltic Sea off Poland. The projects await final investment decision planned for 2024.

Mondi has signed a collaboration to supply Modivo, a European online fashion retailer, with paper-based MailerBags and corrugated boxes replacing rigid plastic packaging across its shoes, bags and clothing range.

DS Smith launched a new state-of-the-art sustainable packaging facility in Belchatow, Poland, on 15 September 2022, part of a combined £100m investment with its new Italian site. The site is expected to help create part of more than 250 new roles across both countries.

BorgWarner Mobility Poland is investing 380 million zloty in modernizing its production portfolio, moving Morse Systems production from Blonie to a new 11,300 m2 plant in Jasionka, with the transfer planned for September 2022.

Polish cardboard packaging maker Janmar Centrum opened a new production facility of about 7,300 square metres in Stryków, within Segro Logistics Park Stryków, to boost manufacturing capacity. The investment value was not disclosed.

Daikin Industries will invest 300 million euros to build a new heat pump unit factory at the Ksawerów Industrial Park in Lodz Province, Poland. Operations are set to start in July 2024.

DS Smith is launching a 37,000 m² corrugated packaging plant in Bełchatów with annual capacity of 180 million m² at the end of June 2022. The project cost PLN 250 million and created more than 200 jobs.

MMP Neupack Polska is investing 60 million euros in its Bydgoszcz plant in Poland, doubling capacity and adding an industrial digital printing line expected to start in mid-2022.

Valmet will deliver a BioTrac pretreatment system and a BioPower 48 MWth lignin-fired combined heat and power plant for ORLEN Południe's planned second-generation bioethanol plant in Jedlicze, Poland. The plant is due to start operation in 2024. The order value was not disclosed.

SÜDPACK officially opened its new printing and finishing plant in Kłobuck, Poland, on May 5 and 6, 2022, on a site of over 14,000 m2 that was previously Bahpol.

Unibep SA signed an agreement with Mondi Warszawa to reconstruct and extend a production and warehouse hall at the Mszczonów paper packaging plant, with a net value of PLN 164 million. The hall grows from 20,000 m2 to 49,000 m2.

Mondi will invest €95 million at its Świecie containerboard mill in Poland to expand production and enhance product quality. The project includes rebuilds of PM2 and PM5, pulp mill upgrades, a recycled fiber line and energy recovery.

Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn is installing new syngas compressors to raise ammonia capacity at its Poland plant, a PLN 180 million (about $43.5 million) project with completion expected in H1 2023.

Wärtsilä was contracted by Remontowa shipyard in Poland to supply four 31DF dual-fuel engines per vessel and an LNGPac fuel system for three new LNG-fuelled RoPax ferries. The ferries will be operated by Unity Line and Polferries. The contract was signed in January 2022.

Huhtamaki acquired full ownership of its Polish joint venture Huhtamaki Smith Anderson from Smith Anderson Group. The company makes foodservice paper bags at its facility in Czeladz, Poland.

Following a long-term sales collaboration agreement signed in early December 2021, contract packer Truvant will install a Syntegon TPU paper forming, filling and sealing machine at its contract packaging facility in Poland.

Atlas Ward Polska started building a production and warehouse plant for Rawibox S.A. in the Jasienicka Low-Emission Economic Zone in Miedzyrzecz Dolny, Lower Silesia, with about 30,000 m2 of floor space. Atlas Ward is the general contractor under a design-and-build contract. Reported November 24, 2021.

Schumacher Packaging commissioned Voith to rebuild paper machine 2 at its Myszków, Poland containerboard mill, doubling capacity from 500 to 1,000 tons per day, with startup scheduled for mid-2023.
