FormFactor, Inc., together with MBK Partners, closed the acquisition of FICT Limited. FormFactor invested approximately $60 million for a 20% non-controlling stake and a board seat.

MBK Partners, together with FormFactor, will acquire FICT Ltd., a Japanese semiconductor PCB and substrate maker, for 100 billion yen ($656.3 million). MBK will hold an 80% stake and FormFactor a 20% stake.

FICT, a printed circuit board developer and manufacturer, plans a total investment of about 30 billion yen over three years from fiscal 2022, including a new plant building at its Kurohime site in Shinano, Nagano, to boost semiconductor package substrate processing capacity by 1.4 times.
