UK/US private equity firm TowerBrook Capital has agreed to acquire tower crane sales and rental group Uperio from LFPI group, Sofina, Gigarant, and senior management. The share sale agreement was signed on June 2, 2021, and is expected to complete in summer 2021.
French tower crane group Uperio acquired the remaining 50 percent holding in US-based tower crane company P&J Arcomet, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. P&J Arcomet was previously a 50/50 joint venture.
French tower crane distributor Matebat and North-European crane company Arcomet, both under LFPI group, plan to merge and rebrand as UPERIO. The new entity will have a fleet of 2,200 cranes, 550 employees, and sales of nearly €180 million in 2018, aiming to become a global leader.
