Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI) inaugurated an additional production unit in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, its fifth consecutive expansion. The company invested around Rs 100 crore to increase annual capacity to 3,600 units and create 50 direct jobs.

Kobelco launched its next-generation SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 midi excavators with improved performance, efficiency, and operator comfort.

Kobelco, Engcon and Leica Geosystems partnered to develop a new automatic tiltrotator function for Kobelco excavators. The ICT system will launch in spring 2019 in Japan, first integrated into SK200 and SK210-10 excavators.

Kobelco announced it will manufacture four additional excavator models at its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant by 2018, bringing the total to 11 models. The plant aims to produce 1,800 machines per year and is hiring 20 more employees.
