Microchip closed its $8.45 billion acquisition of Microsemi on May 29, 2018. Microsemi has five fabs in the U.S.

Microchip Technology, Inc. notified the Foreign-Trade Zones Board of proposed production activity for semiconductor devices and related products at its facilities in Chandler and Tempe, Arizona.

Xcerra shipped its 500th Diamondx semiconductor test system to Microchip Technology for high-volume production testing of devices for automotive, consumer, and industrial markets.

Microchip Technology announced that China's Ministry of Commerce has agreed to review its planned acquisition of Microsemi for USD 8.35 billion. Microchip hopes to complete the deal in June 2018.

Microchip Technology Inc is in advanced talks to acquire Microsemi Corp, with a deal valuing Microsemi roughly in the mid-$60s a share, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Microchip Technology signed an agreement to buy Atmel for $8.15 per share in cash and stock, with an equity value of about $3.56 billion, topping a previous offer from Dialog Semiconductor.
