Yunnan Chihong Germanium

Yunnan Chihong Germanium's subsidiary Yunnan Xinyao Semiconductor Materials signed a contract with Applied Optoelectronics (AOI) to supply 180,000 pieces of 4-inch N-type indium phosphide (InP) substrates annually from 2027 to 2031. The first-year contract value is $194 million.

Yunnan Chihong Germanium announced in April 2026 a CNY 189 million investment to build 4-inch and 6-inch high-quality indium phosphide single crystal production lines at an existing plant. The expansion will add capacity equivalent to 300,000 pieces of 4-inch substrates per year after 18 months of construction.
