TSMC, Sony Semiconductor Solutions, DENSO, and Toyota announced further investment into JASM to build a second fab in Kumamoto, Japan, scheduled to begin operation by the end of 2027. Total investment for both fabs exceeds US$20 billion, with production capacity of over 100,000 12-inch wafers per month and creation of more than 3,400 high-tech jobs.
