Indian auto parts supplier Samvardhana Motherson International plans to acquire Atsumitec, a Honda-affiliated transmission and engine components maker, to help navigate the EV transition.

Samvardhana Motherson Ltd. announced plans to acquire a 95% stake in Japan-based Atsumitec for $57 million in an all-cash deal, also purchasing a 49% stake in Atsumitec Indonesia from Honda Motor.

Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group B.V. agreed to acquire a 95% stake in ATSUMITEC Co., Ltd. from Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and others for approximately ¥8.5 billion.

AvtoVAZ acquired 100% of OOO Atsumitek Toyota Tsuse Rus, the former joint venture of Toyota Tsusho and Atsumitec, on August 9, 2023. The plant in Tolyatti produces transmission shift actuators and had an investment of about 750 million rubles.
