EFI and Agfa agreed to merge their digital printing businesses into a joint venture focused on industrial inkjet, with EFI holding 60% and Agfa 40%. The deal was announced on September 28, 2026 and is expected to close by end of 2026.

Agfa will exclusively supply the printing engines for the BHS Jetliner Xceed and BHS Jetliner Monochrome single-pass inkjet systems to BHS Corrugated, and becomes a BHS Certified ink supplier.

Agfa is building a new unit at its central factory in Mortsel, near Antwerp, to produce water-based inks for laminates, corrugated and other packaging. The plant will be co-located with R&D and quality control and is meant to cover volumes for the next five to ten years.
