Cisco and Acacia Communications announced an amended merger agreement under which Cisco will acquire Acacia for $115 per share in cash, or approximately $4.5 billion on a fully diluted basis.

Samsung Electronics received contracts from Cisco and Google to design and manufacture custom semiconductor chips. Cisco's chips will be used in next-generation telecommunications networks, while Google's chips will be used for body movement sensors.

Cisco has announced plans to acquire Luxtera, a silicon photonics firm, for $660 million. The acquisition will integrate Luxtera's technology into Cisco's networking portfolio and is expected to close in Q3 of Cisco's financial year.

Flux Power Holdings secured a $350,000 order to provide LiFT Pack lithium-ion batteries and chargers for a Midwest automotive parts supplier converting from propane forklifts to electric trucks. Delivery is targeted for late November 2018.
