American & Efird

American & Efird, a division of Elevate Textiles, agreed to purchase the high-performance yarn business of Charles Craft, including its manufacturing operation in Hamer, South Carolina. The deal is expected to close in early October 2020.

Elevate Textiles and its brand American & Efird celebrated the grand opening of a new thread manufacturing facility in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. The plant added over 150 jobs and began operations on June 1, 2019.

American & Efird (A&E), an Elevate Textiles-owned manufacturer, opened its 24th manufacturing operation in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The facility includes advanced production lines for spun and filament thread products, R&D capabilities, and has hired over 350 local workers.

Platinum Equity completed the acquisition of American & Efird (A&E), the largest U.S. manufacturer of industrial sewing thread and technical textiles, from an affiliate of KPS Capital Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Platinum Equity has acquired Green Bay, Wisconsin-based WS Packaging Group, a labels and packaging solutions provider, from J.W. Childs Associates; no financial terms were disclosed.
