Alinta Energy has announced plans to acquire AGL Energy's 1.8GW Liddell coal-fired power station in New South Wales, Australia.

Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions, through its Australian subsidiary, won a contract from AGL Macquarie to retrofit steam turbines and generators at the Bayswater Power Station in Muswellbrook, Australia. The upgrade will add 100 MW of output without increasing coal consumption or emissions.

AGL gave an EPC contract of over €100m to Wärtsilä to provide 12 50DF dual-fuel engines for the Barker Inlet gas-fired power plant. Wärtsilä will deliver the engines towards the end of 2018.

AGL Energy started construction of the A$295m ($234m) Barker Inlet Power Station, a 210MW gas-fired power plant on Torrens Island near Adelaide, South Australia. The plant is slated to begin operations in the second half of 2019.

Wärtsilä secured a €100 million EPC contract from AGL Energy to supply a 211 MW smart power generation plant, the Barker Inlet Power Station, near Adelaide, South Australia. The plant will feature 12 Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines running primarily on natural gas.
