Salzgitter Group is investing approximately €200 million in a new hot-dip galvanizing line (No. 3) at its subsidiary Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. The line will have an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes and create 70 new jobs.

A unit of Germany's Salzgitter has secured a contract from Gasunie to supply steel pipes for the 54-km Brunsbuettel-Hetlingen pipeline, which will link the planned FSRU-based LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven with the grid. Delivery is by February 2023.

Salzgitter AG and Mendritzki Holding GmbH & Co. KG signed a partnering agreement for low CO2 steel products. Under the SALCOS program, green steel will be produced and delivered from the end of 2025.

Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH awarded SMS group a contract to supply a new heat treatment line for its heavy plate facility in Ilsenburg, Germany. The line will have a capacity of 300 kt/yr.
