Amkor Technology

Amkor Technology is seeking approval to increase the operating capacity of its semiconductor manufacturing, assembly and testing plant in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, from 675 million products per year to 1.2 billion products annually (about 420 tons). The plant's total registered capital is $1.6 billion.

Navitas Semiconductor announced manufacturing partnerships with TSMC for GaN-on-silicon wafer manufacturing and Amkor Technology for packaging, test and logistics services to support high-volume demand for GaN power ICs.

Amkor Technology has signed definitive agreements to acquire privately-held Unitive, Inc. and obtain a majority interest of approximately 60% in Taiwan-based Unitive Semiconductor Taiwan Corporation.

Amkor Technology entered into a definitive agreement to acquire NANIUM S.A., a provider of wafer-level fan-out semiconductor packaging solutions based in Porto, Portugal. The transaction was announced on February 2, 2017, with terms not disclosed.
