Vulcan Materials Company

Fairfax County supervisors approved zoning changes allowing Vulcan Materials to expand and upgrade its concrete mixing and batching facility in Springfield, Virginia. The company plans to spend $40 million on new buildings, silos, and plant consolidation.

Vulcan Materials reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, clearing the path for its acquisition of Aggregates USA. The announcement was made on December 22, 2017.

Vulcan Materials Company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 4 December 2017 to mark the completion of a $50 million upgrade to its Stockbridge, Georgia aggregates plant, including full automation and safety improvements.

Vulcan Materials reached a definitive agreement to acquire Aggregates USA LLC from SPO Partners for $900 million in cash, adding 15 quarries and 16 aggregate distribution facilities in the southeastern US.

Vulcan Materials Co. and Fairfax Water signed an agreement to convert Vulcan's quarry in Lorton, Virginia, into a water storage reservoir over 70 years. The reservoir will hold up to 17 billion gallons of water, developed in two stages: the northern part by 2035 and the remainder by 2085.

Vulcan Materials signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire LoJac Holdings' asphalt, construction, safety, and Monterey Sand operations in Middle Tennessee. The transaction is not yet closed and the amount was not disclosed.
