Chiorino SpA, an Italian manufacturer of light-weight belting, has acquired Safari Belting Systems, Inc., a US-based plastic modular belt manufacturer. The acquisition expands Chiorino's manufacturing footprint in the United States.

Sagotharen, a new company founded by technocrats with over 30 years of experience, has started manufacturing synthetic sandwich spindle tapes in India. The company has a capacity of 30,000 sq.mt. per month and markets under the brand Chiorino.
