Oxford Instruments plc entered into an agreement to acquire FemtoTools AG, a Swiss developer of nanoindentation instruments, for an initial CHF 17m plus up to CHF 7m in earn-out. Completion is expected within four weeks.

Hitachi High-Technologies has entered into an agreement to acquire part of the industrial precision instruments business of the Oxford Instruments plc Group through stock purchase and business acquisition.
