Swegon

Swegon has officially opened a new €2 million research and development lab at its Bluebox chiller and heat pump factory in Cantarana di Cona, Italy. The lab allows performance testing of units in various environmental conditions.

Swegon Group AB, a subsidiary of Investment AB Latour, acquired Klimax AS, a distributor of chillers and heat pumps in Norway. Klimax had 12 employees and net sales of approximately NOK 66 million in 2018.

Swegon Group AB acquired Safegard Systems Ltd, a leading provider of intelligent smoke/fire damper control and monitoring systems in the UK and Ireland. Safegard is based in Dublin, Ireland, employs 24 staff, and had a turnover of EUR 8 million in 2016.

Swegon has invested in a robotic press brake cell from Din Maskin at its Arvika, Sweden factory, to automate bending operations for the production of the next-generation Parasol comfort module.

Swegon AB acquired Ruskin Air Management Ltd (RAML) from Johnson Controls International. RAML has been rebranded as Swegon Air Management Ltd, and its two plants in Whitstable and Bridgnorth, UK, join Swegon's existing production network.
