Demon (Zhejiang) Gas Equipment Manufacturing held a groundbreaking ceremony on 20 May 2023 in Pinghu, Zhejiang, for a plant on over 20 mu of land. The 105 million yuan project will produce 5,000 intelligent industrial gas compressors a year.

Sinopec International Co. issued a public tender for a 2023 framework agreement covering domestic reciprocating compressor valves for Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, with a bid deadline of May 16, 2023. The item quantity listed is 100 units of reciprocating compressor parts. The notice is a first change to the original tender.

Danfoss signed an agreement with the Haiyan county government in Zhejiang to begin building its second campus there. The local government funds the facility, which Danfoss leases and equips itself.

Norway-based TMC Compressors will deliver marine compressed air systems, including N2 feed compressors, for six LNG carriers being built by Jiangnan Shipyard for ADNOC Logistics & Services. Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for 2025 and 2026.

Yingpu Fluid Technology held the groundbreaking for its intelligent manufacturing and global R&D center for high-end hydraulic equipment in Zhenjiang high-tech zone on March 1, 2023. The total project investment is US$100 million.

Dongya Machinery (301028) broke ground on its Jaguar air compressor manufacturing project, with a planned investment of 733 million yuan and completion expected in 2025. The plant will produce air compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers.

Guangdong Fosber Intelligent Equipment (Fosber Asia) held the groundbreaking for a new intelligent factory making corrugator production lines in Songxia Industrial Park, Foshan, on 10 February 2023. The estimated investment is about 500 million yuan over an 80-acre site.

Norwegian marine compressor maker TMC was selected by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to supply marine compressed air systems for seven LNG carriers being built for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and chartered to QatarEnergy. Announced on 18 January 2023.

Chongqing Gas Compressor Works won the second-round tender for BOG high-pressure compressors for the Wuhu Changjiang LNG inland receiving and transshipment terminal in Anhui, at a bid price of RMB 18.5 million. The tender was awarded by Anhui Changjiang LNG Co.

Shenji Group won all six sets of 110,000 m³/h air separation compressor units for the first phase of Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-Based New Materials' 3 Mt/yr coal-to-olefins project. The order was reported on 27 December 2022, and Shenji also won 27 other process compressor sets for the project.

Hoerbiger Compressor Technology held a groundbreaking on November 29, 2022 for a China base in Changzhou's Sino-Swiss innovation park. The 43-mu site has a total investment of US$100 million and is expected to exceed 500 million yuan in annual sales once at full output.

HOERBIGER initiated construction of a new plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, on 29 November 2022, to house its Compression and Safety operations. The building is due for completion by the end of 2023.

Guangdong Forsberg Intelligent Equipment plans to invest 500 million yuan in an intelligent plant in Foshan, Guangdong, to make corrugated cardboard production line equipment. The project covers about 80 mu.

Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua contracted Norwegian firm TMC Compressors to supply compressed air and nitrogen system equipment for six 174,000-cbm LNG carriers ordered by MOL. TMC will manufacture the equipment in the Nordic region; the price was not disclosed.

A signing ceremony was held for a German Baohua compressor project in the Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total investment of US$10 million. The plant is expected to produce 10,000 compressors a year once at full capacity.

YIZUMI has won a major order from BYD worth more than CNY 300 million, including VAT, for all-electric injection molding machines with clamping forces from 90 to 550 tons for car interior and exterior trims.

Dongya Machinery (301028.SZ) plans to invest RMB 733 million to build an air compressor manufacturing base in Tongan High-tech Zone, Xiamen. Construction is expected to be completed before 1 January 2025.

Zhejiang Qilaoban Compressor Manufacturing is building a single-storey steel plant in Quzhou's Qujiang District to produce 1,000 screw air compressors, 20 centrifugal compressors, 500 refrigerated dryers, 500 PID air supply control systems and 1,000 air tanks per year. The project's investment is RMB 148.4 million, with main construction scheduled from Q4 2022 to Q3 2023.

Bosch Rexroth and Weifu Group plan to form a joint venture in Wuxi, Jiangsu, to develop, make and sell hydraulic products for the Chinese market. Bosch Rexroth will merge its subsidiary Lezhuo Hydraulics into the venture, which still needs regulatory approval.

Ingersoll Rand agreed to acquire Shanghai Hanye Air Purifying Technology, an OEM supplier of compressed air dryers and filters with about $4 million annual revenue. It is one of three acquisitions announced on 1 August 2022 for a combined cash price of about $35 million.

Shengu Group broke ground on its compressor supporting industrial park and reciprocating machine production test base in Shenyang, a 160 million yuan project expected to start production by end-2022.

Burckhardt Compression's subsidiary Shenyang Yuanda signed a contract with Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering to supply three skid-mounted hydrogen compressors for the Sinopec Xinjiang KuChe green hydrogen project, announced May 2022.

J. Schmalz began manufacturing vacuum components and complete vacuum systems for automation and manual handling at its new China headquarters in Taicang on 2022-03-18. The site sits on a plot of about 27,000 square meters acquired in early 2020.

Atlas Copco will invest RMB 3 billion to build a China headquarters and R&D and manufacturing plant for industrial compressors in Wuxi New District, with annual capacity of 163,000 units. The project was signed on February 21, 2022.

Wärtsilä has been selected to supply power solutions for 12 LNG-fueled newbuild containerships ordered by CMA CGM from Chinese shipyards Hudong-Zhonghua and Jiangnan. Equipment delivery to the yards starts in 2022, with the first vessel expected to launch in Q3 2023.

Burckhardt Compression signed a contract to equip three EVA and LDPE production lines at Jiangsu Hongjing New Material's petrochemical mega-plant in Lianyungang, China, with Booster-Primary and Hyper Compressors. The plant will have an output of 600 kilotons per year of EVA/LDPE. The contract value was not disclosed.

Zhejiang Mingrui Machinery moved production from three sites into a new 50-mu plant in Ruian, Wenzhou, whose construction began in October 2020 and was completed in late 2021.

German compressor maker Bitzer is establishing a joint venture in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, to manufacture small-capacity rotary compressors in a 90,000 m2 plant under construction, with production planned for the first half of 2022.

UK-listed Sprintex has signed a three-year strategic procurement and cooperation agreement with Chinese firm Nanjing RGE Membrane Tech to design and supply high-speed centrifugal air compressor systems for China's water treatment industry, with a minimum of 400 units.

MAN Energy Solutions subsidiary DWE won an order from Wanhua Chemical to deliver three salt-operated reactor systems for a new maleic anhydride plant in China, with an overall capacity of 200,000 tons per year. The plant produces PBAT for biodegradable plastics.

Norway-based TMC Compressors won a contract of undisclosed value from Jiangnan Shipyard to supply marine compressed air systems for six 93,000cbm LPG carriers being built for Petredec.

Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has awarded TMC Compressors of the Seas a contract to supply the marine compressed air system for the Liza Unity FPSO, which will operate at the Liza field offshore Guyana. The contract value was not disclosed.

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has placed an order with TMC Compressors of the Seas for a complete marine compressed air system for a pipelay vessel it is building. The contract value was not disclosed.

Shimadzu's Chinese subsidiary Tianjin Shimadzu Hydraulic has built a new factory in the Xiqing Economic-Technological Development Area of Tianjin to make hydraulic gear pumps and control valves for forklifts. The $20 million plant has capacity of 500,000 pumps and 200,000 valves a year, with full operation planned for October 2021.

Zhongmi Holding said it plans to buy production equipment for its Riji Seal and Huayang Seal units to expand capacity, with about 15 million yuan of new investment. The added capacity is expected to generate 100-200 million yuan in annual output value.

Construction is underway on Linuo's high-performance control valve production and R&D project in Ruian, Zhejiang, with total investment of 350 million yuan. Completion is expected in 2022 with annual output value of 1 billion yuan.

Hengsheng Packaging, a Xinsheng Group subsidiary, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Fosber Asia for a 2.5m Fosber Pro/Line corrugator. The deal is part of a planned packaging technology industrial park of nearly 1,000 acres in western China.

Weichai Power, through its Luxembourg subsidiary, acquired 49 per cent of Swiss firm Fischer Fuel Cell Compressor AG and set up a joint venture in China in which both will hold shares. The deal was announced on 25 March 2021.

Guangdong Hande Precision Machinery began construction on its Section 2 compressor industry park in Yuanzhou town, Boluo County, Huizhou, as part of a batch of 17 industrial projects. The reported investment for the project is about 1.2 billion RMB, and the event took place on 3 March 2021.

Valmet agreed to supply a white cardboard line, a high-grade printing paper line and a BCTMP line to Liansheng Paper's new Zhangpu site in China, expected to start in Q3 2022, as announced on March 2, 2021.

Burckhardt Compression signed the contract to acquire the remaining 40% stake in Shenyang Yuanda Compressor, a China-based compressor maker with about 650 employees, on January 25, 2021. Closing was expected within two weeks, and the purchase price was not disclosed.

Fushite Hydraulic broke ground on Jan 21, 2021 on a 2.2 billion yuan project in the Shangrao Economic Development Zone to produce 50 million hydraulic parts a year and create over 500 jobs.

Renqiu Liyang Compressor Manufacturing has received government filing and land approval for a new CNY 200 million plant on 52.7 mu in Renqiu Economic Development Zone, Cangzhou, Hebei. The plant is designed to produce 30,000 compressors a year.
