Brazil's competition authority CADE approved Tredegar's sale of its Terphane flexible packaging film business to Oben Group. The deal, agreed in September 2023 for $116 million base consideration, is expected to close on November 1, 2024.

Valgroup has acquired Mirvi Brasil, a manufacturer of plastic caps located in Cabreuva, Sao Paulo. The deal expands Valgroup's caps business and its beverage market offering.

Tredegar agreed to sell its Terphane flexible packaging films business, with about 500 employees and sites in Brazil and New York, to affiliates of Oben Group for net debt-free base consideration of $116 million. Closing is subject to competition clearance in Brazil and Colombia and is expected in 8 to 14 months.

Italian packaging group Goglio acquired Mega Embalagens, a Brazilian maker of flexible packaging for food, hygiene and pet food, in July 2023. Terms were not disclosed.

Italian packaging maker Gualapack, through Gualapack Brasil, agreed to acquire Brazilian flexible packaging converter Teruel Embalagens, which has two factories in Brazil. The deal adds laminate production to Gualapack's pouch business in South America. It was announced on October 4, 2021.

Huhtamaki has completed the acquisition of the remaining shares of its Brazilian joint venture Laminor S.A., a tube laminate maker, for approximately EUR 30 million. The business is consolidated from April 1, 2020.

Perlen Packaging AG, the packaging division of the CPH Group, agreed to acquire a 60% majority stake in Brazilian company Sekoya Industria e Comercio Ltda., effective retroactively from 1 January 2018, with formal closing planned for end of February. The price was not disclosed.

Sealed Air Corporation announced on August 2, 2017 its acquisition of Deltaplam Embalagens, a family-owned Brazilian flexible packaging manufacturer headquartered in Londrina, Parana. Terms were not disclosed.
