Barmag

Rieter has completed the acquisition of Barmag as of February 2, 2026. Barmag will be integrated into Rieter's Man-Made Fiber division, making Rieter a leading system provider for natural and synthetic fibers.

Century Synthetic Fiber Corporation's subsidiary Unitex inaugurated phase 1 of a new plant in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam, on January 23, 2026. The phase has an annual capacity of 36,000 tons and total investment of VND 2,130 billion ($81.16 million), increasing the company's total capacity to 99,000 tons per year.

Rieter has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Barmag from OC Oerlikon for an upfront equity purchase price of CHF 713 million, creating a global leader in natural and manmade fibers.
