Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group

Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) submitted a plan to expand the Lam Dong Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminum Complex from 650,000 mt to 2 million mt of alumina per year, and to build a new 500,000 mt/year aluminum smelter. The expansion's first phase (adding 1.2 million mt/year alumina capacity) is expected to require an investment of 30.676 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately $1.178 billion).
