BDT & MSD Partners will acquire a 45% stake in Ima, an Italian packaging machinery manufacturer, from BC Partners for approximately €3 billion, valuing the company at around €6.5 billion. The Vacchi family will retain its stake and continue to lead the company.

Private equity firm BC Partners has agreed to sell its stake in IMA, an Italian automatic packaging machines maker, to U.S. merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners. The deal values IMA at between €6.5 billion and €7 billion.

BDT & MSD Partners has agreed to make a minority investment in IMA Group, a packaging machinery manufacturer, acquiring a stake from BC Partners. The Vacchi family remains majority owner.
