Karat Packaging formed a joint venture with Happiness Moon to build a 180,000 ft² factory in Taiwan, producing compostable foodservice products from bagasse, with production starting in H2 2022.

Karat Packaging entered a definitive joint venture agreement with Happiness Moon to establish Green Earth Technology and build a new 180,000 square-foot factory in Taiwan. Karat will invest approximately $6 million for a 49% stake. The facility will produce 7,560 tons of bagasse products in 2023.
