Terminal Graneles del Norte

Terminal Graneles del Norte (TGN) in Chile successfully completed its first trial shipment of 10,800 tons of copper concentrate from Codelco using a new material handling and shiploading system at Mejillones, supplied by Bedeschi, Konecranes, and FAM.

TBA Group was contracted to review and simulate the master plan for Terminal Graneles del Norte's new containerised bulk terminal at Puerto Angamos, Chile. The terminal will use automated Konecranes RMGs and a conveyor/shiploader system for copper concentrate.

Konecranes will supply Terminal Graneles del Norte (TGN) in Mejillones, Chile, with the world's first automated system for handling containerised dry bulk cargoes, including three automated widespan RMGs and RAM Revolver container rotating system. The system can process up to 4 Mtpa of copper concentrate.
