Thales was awarded a contract worth around €156 million to design and install Integrated Communications and Supervision systems and an automatic fare collection system for the Metro Manila Subway in the Philippines. The contract was announced on February 25, 2022.

Colas Rail, leading a consortium with Thales and Egis, was selected by Mitsubishi Corporation to design and build the turnkey rail system for the first underground line of the Metro Manila Subway, a 35-km line with 15 stations, for a total contract value of about €1 billion, with €760 million for Colas Rail.
