Polykemi plans to increase production capacity at its US factory by adding a third extruder line, likely beginning in 2026, to meet growing demand for customized plastic compounds in North America.

Polykemi Inc., the US subsidiary of Sweden-based Polykemi Group, opened a new compounding plant near Charlotte, North Carolina, with an initial capacity of 6,500 tons. The company invested €18 million in the facility.

Swedish compounder Polykemi is building a new 9,300 m² plant in Chongqing, Sichuan, China, to produce compounds from virgin and recycled raw materials. Start-up is expected in the first quarter of 2022, with capacity for at least 10,000 t/y.

Polykemi Inc., part of the Polykemi Group, will purchase the Maistro Speculative Building in Gastonia Technology Park and invest $11.8 million to operate a plastics compounds production facility. The plant will create 22 new jobs and is the company's first North American operation.
