South Korea's Iljin Materials received 800 billion won ($715 million) from STIC Investments to fund construction of its first production facility in Europe, near a Northvolt plant in Sweden. The company also signed a 10-year supply contract with Northvolt for 17,147 tons of copper foils.

Iljin Materials (now Lotte Energy Materials) signed a contract to supply 1,200 tons of 2nd battery electric foil (I2S 5㎛) worth approximately 400 billion won, from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. The customer and exact value were not disclosed.
