Samsung will set up a compressor plant at an outlay of Rs 1,588 crore on 22 acres near Chennai, with capacity of eight million units a year. The compressors will supply Samsung refrigerators and exports. Samsung India signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government.

Baker Hughes won contracts to supply severe service, control and safety relief valves for the BAPCO Modernization expansion of the Sitra Island Refinery, which will raise capacity to 380 MBPD. Contracts were placed through Samsung, Tecnicas Reunidas and Technip, and about 1200 valves have been awarded to date.
