Amaero

Rio Tinto has signed an agreement to provide a first commercial batch of high-performance aluminium-scandium alloy from its North American operations to Amaero for 3D printing. The scandium oxide will be supplied from a new plant in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.

Amaero has received a purchase order from Boeing to build evaluation parts from its Melbourne and El Segundo facilities. The value of the order was not disclosed.
