Alpha Solway has landed a £53 million deal to supply personal protective equipment to NHS Scotland, including 232 million surgical masks, six million respirator masks and two million visors. The company plans to nearly quadruple its workforce to 200 new jobs to fulfill the contract.

The Scottish Government announced contracts for the manufacture of around one million non-sterile gowns. Don & Low will supply 2.8 million square metres of base material, which will be made into gowns by Keela and Redwood TTM Ltd, with initial production of 20,000 gowns per week each.
