Biffa

Biffa completed the acquisition of Esterform, a PET pre-form and bottle manufacturer, building on its 2023 purchase of a 49.9 per cent stake. The deal was reported on 8 October 2025.

Biffa has completed the acquisition of Esterform, merging it with its PET recycling operations into a combined business trading as Esterpet. Esterform makes PET preforms and bottles at sites in West Yorkshire and Worcestershire.

Biffa has been awarded a £3 million three-year contract to collect and manage about 15,000 tonnes of waste from DS Smith sites across the UK, with zero waste sent to landfill.

Biffa and Nestlé Waters UK announced a partnership to deliver 100% rPET made from British recycled plastic for Nestlé Waters products.

Biffa has opened a £27.5m ($35.8m) PET bottle recycling facility in Seaham, England, capable of processing 57,000 metric tons of PET per year and creating 100 full-time jobs.

Biffa has received planning approval from Durham County Council for a £15m plastics recycling plant at Foxcover Distribution Park near Seaham, creating around 70 jobs. Construction is expected to start in Summer 2019.
