West China Cement

The Namibian Competition Commission prohibited the NAD1.5 billion (US$86.67 million) acquisition of Schwenk Namibia, which owns 69.8% of Ohorongo Cement, by West China Cement, citing coordination concerns with Whale Rock Cement.

West China Cement Ltd has agreed to acquire Namibia's Ohorongo Cement for US$104 million, following an agreement on January 3, 2020. The deal is subject to Namibian regulatory approval and must be completed by March 31, 2020.
