Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group

China Hongqiao Group put the first phase of its Yunnan 'Green Aluminium' project into production, with an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes. The plant, located in Wenshan prefecture, has a total planned capacity of 2.03 million tonnes and total investment of RMB 40 billion.

Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group and the Yunnan provincial government have commenced work on a green aluminum industrial park in Wenshan prefecture, with an investment of 40 billion yuan ($5.72 billion). The project will create 12,000 jobs and relocate 30% of Shandong Hongqiao's smelting capacity (2.03 million tons annually) from Shandong to Yunnan.
