Ewec and Acwa Power sign $890M water purchase agreement for Taweelah desalination plant
Emirates Water and Electricity Company (Ewec) signed a Dh3.27-billion ($890 million) water purchase agreement with Acwa Power for the world's largest reverse osmosis desalination plant in Taweelah, UAE. The plant will have a capacity of over 900,000 cubic meters per day and is expected to begin commercial operations in Q4 2022.
