Maerz Ofenbau received an order from UNACEM and CALIDRA for a 600 tpd PFR lime kiln in Tarma, Peru. The kiln features 20% electric energy savings and is designed for future CO2 capture. Commissioning is expected in the first half of 2025.

Peru-based UNACEM has agreed to acquire Martin Marietta Materials' Tehachapi cement plant in California for $317 million. The deal is expected to close in mid-late 2023.

UNACEM Chile and UNICON Chile agreed to acquire aggregates company Conovia for US$3.7m. Conovia has 180,000t/yr of aggregates production capacity in Valparaíso Region.

Peru-based Unacem reported that its general meeting of shareholders will evaluate a merger proposal with Inversiones Andino, Investment and Administration Trade Union, and Inmobilaria Pronto to consolidate assets and improve efficiency.
