PET preform maker SGT Group of Rezé, France, announced its acquisition of Axium Packaging, a Saint-Étienne injection and blow molding firm with 385 employees and production in France, the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany.

SGT laid the first stone for a new 10,000 m2 factory in Chalon-sur-Saône making PET preforms, with an investment of nearly 28 million euros. The plant should be operational from spring 2019 and employ around forty people.
