Roy Hill has signed a contract with Epiroc and ASI Mining to automate its mixed fleet of 77 Hitachi and Cat haul trucks at its iron ore mine in Western Australia. The project includes phased implementation starting with up to eight trucks.

Epiroc acquired 34% of ASI Mining, a provider of autonomous fleet technology for mining vehicles, for an undisclosed amount. ASI Mining will become part of Epiroc Drilling Solutions in Texas.
