X-FAB Silicon Foundries

X-FAB Silicon Foundries SE is expanding its silicon-carbide (SiC) capacity at its Lubbock, Texas facility, which has a capacity of 26,000 wafers per month, and adding internal SiC epitaxy capabilities. The expansion includes new epitaxy toolset and characterization tools.

X-FAB announced plans to double its 6-inch Silicon Carbide process capacity at its fab in Lubbock, Texas, in response to customer demand. A second heated ion implanter has been purchased, with delivery expected by end of 2018 and production release in Q1 2019.
