Hitachi Astemo received orders from Honda for electric axles (e-axles) for two upcoming mid-size and large-size battery-electric vehicles, slated for global rollout in 2026.

Jatco is investing USD 29.5 million to launch a new AXO transmission production line at its Jatco II plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The line will manufacture 26,800 units per month for export to North America and create 100 direct and 400 indirect jobs.

JATCO will establish JATCO (Suzhou) Automatic Transmission Ltd. in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, China, as its second CVT production plant. Production is expected to start at end 2019 with annual capacity of 480,000 units and about 1,000 employees. Capital expenditure is 6.4 billion yen.
