Shell Polymers

CSX and Shell Polymers opened a new storage-in-transit yard in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, repurposed from an existing CSX facility. The yard is owned and operated by Shell Polymers to store rail cars and transload plastics.

Shell Polymers is building a massive petrochemical complex in the Pittsburgh area, which will include 3.5 billion pounds of annual polyethylene resin capacity. The project will create 600 full-time jobs and 6,000 construction jobs, with production expected to begin in the early 2020s.
