ABB wins 600 MW HVDC order for Higashi Shimizu project in Japan
ABB received a significant order for two blocks of frequency converter systems for the Higashi Shimizu project from Chubu Electric Power Co., placed through the Hitachi-ABB HVDC joint venture. The project will reinforce the connection between Japan's 50 Hz and 60 Hz networks.

Mitsubishi Heavy and Chubu Electric develop low-GWP heat pump
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems and Chubu Electric Power jointly developed the 'Q-ton Circulation' industrial heat pump, which uses low-GWP refrigerant R454C for the first time in Japan. It will be released from August 2018.
