Quantel Medical, part of Lumibird group, and Ellex of Adelaide, Australia, announced a merger agreement to combine their ophthalmic medical device businesses.

Ellex opened a new machinery facility, corporate headquarters and manufacturing plant at Mawson Lakes, Adelaide, doubling production capacity for ophthalmic devices.
