Cadence Design Systems has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire NUMECA International, a leader in computational fluid dynamics, mesh generation, multi-physics simulation and optimization. The acquisition expands Cadence's system analysis portfolio.

Cadence Design Systems has entered a definitive agreement to acquire AWR Corporation, a subsidiary of National Instruments, which provides high-frequency RF EDA software. A strategic alliance between Cadence and NI was also formed.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES has chosen Cadence Design Systems as the primary EDA tool vendor for its Avera Semi subsidiary for advanced node chip design projects.

Cadence Design Systems announced it will acquire Nusemi Inc to expand its high-speed communications IP portfolio. Terms were not disclosed.
