AeroVironment (AV) acquired Empirical Systems Aerospace (ESAero), a producer of unmanned aircraft systems and advanced air mobility platforms, based in San Luis Obispo, California.

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. opened a new 32,200-square foot manufacturing facility in San Luis Obispo, California, to design, produce, test, and certify electric and hybrid aircraft. The facility will create about 40 new jobs.
