Nidec ASI signed a multi-million euro contract with Siemens Gas and Power to supply Variable Frequency Drive Systems and motors for the Arctic LNG 2 project in Russia, developed by Novatek. The equipment will be used in LNG liquefaction plants on the Yamal peninsula.

Nidec ASI signed a multi-million euro contract with Siemens Gas and Power to supply Variable Frequency Drive Systems and motors for the Arctic LNG 2 project in the Yamal Peninsula, Russia. The contract includes three 37MW drives and three synchronous motors for feed gas booster compressors, and three 20MW drives for boil off gas compressors.

Nidec ASI and Bartholet Maschinenbau AG signed a multi-year trade agreement running until 2022 for the construction and sale of ropeways worldwide. Nidec ASI will supply automation, control systems, motors, and inverters for Bartholet's ropeway installations.

EXERGY and Nidec ASI announced they have obtained Turkish certification for a domestically produced generator, which will be installed at Kiper Elektrik Üretim's 10 MWe geothermal power plant. The certification allows the customer to benefit from a local-content incentive of 0.7 USDcent/kWh.

Russian Electric Motors (REM JSC), a joint venture of Transneft and Konar Invest, will build a plant at the Stankomash Industrial Park in Chelyabinsk to produce high-tech electric motors. The plant will be put into operation in 2018, with total investment exceeding 9 billion rubles, creating 352 jobs.
